Today I want to share a quick short tip to getting instant flood of visitor to your website using piggyback system. The system is very simple but powerful. You can even start using it immediately. And the best part of it is that it is not actually new. Lots of people uses this system without knowing. Let me explain using a fellow nigerians website as case study.
Late last year I came across a website – http://www.startupsnigeria.com through one of internetmarketingnigeria.com subscriber. I love the concept of the website. As the faith will have it I got request to be inteviewed by one of their team. Since I love the concept of the site I grant his request. They just publish copy of the interview on their website. Now you may want to ask, how does my being interviewed by a start up website in nigeria relates to getting website traffic?
Don’t worry I will tell you.
The website www.startupsnigeria.com was launched last april. Which means it is still less than 9months old. According to information from alexa.com (online web ranking service) startupsnigeria.com is among fast growing website in nigeria with alexa ranking of less that 100K.
Now here is the nugget. This website has interviewed top guys that have good followers in the past. I mean guys like Seun Osewa the Founder, Nairaland, Emmanuel Oluwatosin – Co-founder, Nairahost among others.
One thing is obvious majority of followers of this guys will end up visiting the website to read the interview and probably make comments just like many of you will be doing with mine. However, the interview strategy may not be the only traffic generating system startupsnigeria.com use.
This is a great hook to get instant visitors to your website. The print newspaper and magazines does this always. Whenever the notice anybody with good followers they don’t wait longer to put the picture of the person on frontpage of their publication.
You can do same thing. What is your website all about? Who are the key people in your market? Who did you know has the type of audience you need? Make a list of them. Find few information about the person. You can google the persons name. Shoot the person email request for interview. The list you will get is no. But I can tell you 7 to 8 in 10 will accept your offer. Everybody wants publicity, even the public shy ones. Many will even be happy if they know that what they will be sharing will be of help to few other people.

I have read your interview in startupsnigeria.com and i believe it’s insightful. The major factors militating against Nigerian netpreneurs are erratic power supply , poor Internet connection and inadequate payment processing. I feel we should do something about it.

The Pingback system is absolutely a great way of driving web traffic. I’ve used it to generate a lot of traffic for StartupsNigeria.com since April last year.
I’ve even been criticised for giving away links to other sites, but on the long run it has proved most effective. I’ll recommend the piggyBack system to your readers and community.

Hmm! No doubt about the effectiveness of this strategy, although I have not get down to using it myself but, seen it in effect.
