Nothing except if the free service provider decide to shut down their service without informing you. That way you may lose your data’s.
Also, there are a lot of things that you can do with one hosted yourself on paid hosting that you can’t do with the free service.
And professional image is another point.
Above all it still depends on purpose of your project.
Actually, i love visiting your web site but i’ve never ever practised what i see there. My question is that “how can i start or own a blogsite?”
