This world is a very interesting place, no wonder many make out of it whatsoever they desire.

When information flies around, one of the best things I do is to accept it. Mind you I never said believe it. This date with LATEEF OLAJIDE (Nigeria fastest rising internet marketing Rich Kid) was prompted based on three fold point.

Namely:-  Making money without spending money.

Making money marketing information.

Rich Dad hosts Rich Kid.

Garnishing all these three points was a technical jargon coming to me for the first time ever PIGGYBACK.

I was fascinated by point number three. Rich Dad hosts Rich Kid. Though no mention was made of Robert Kiyosaki of Rich Dad Poor Dad visiting Nigeria on the 19th of June 23, 2008. however, it turned out to be a home grown version made in Lagos Nigeria. When information comes to me like this, I don’t naturally keep quiet. I went ahead of time to discuss the issue with my friend who introduced me to SENetworkers. He did a good job in his bid to put me through but I never understood him. I wanted to see it live and do the autopsy myself.

Never was the event a banquet of eulogy nor was it a talk show, it was an entrepreneurial seminar! At the event venue, a unique place, Four Square Gospel Church Esuola Street Okota Lagos Nigeria, I the doubting Thomas meet the risen Christ. Just like any other event around the corner, formalities for registration looked discouraging but I told myself I must see the end of the matter.  An icing on the cake that tantalized me was the event tag inscribed with a Chinese language. I never understood what was written on it but I felt like others, took a seat having begged a few young men to accommodate me in their already filled pew. The journey has begun!

When the young man LATEEF OLAJIDE mounted the podium, I was eager to download him and print him out in my own language. I must be frank with you I was never disappointed. He was a perfect captain fantastique. Though he confirmed of not having attended any higher institution but the society known to him calls him a professor. Now I can understand better, he has all it takes to show for it. Certificates are not all that there is.

As I said earlier that I was impressed, let me flash you a bit of it all in a summary. He started the day with why people fail in most of their chosen field of endeavour.

And what is it? Lack of fundamentals and our inability to think and change when most needed. He talked about money nay millions with much gusto. The thrilling aspect was that he talks in all world major currencies.

Some of his clichés are:-

•         I care about the zeros, the more the better

•         No excuse is good enough to stop you from moving up the ladder

•         You can miss your sleep and be ok if you personally want

•         When you are hungry, ideas will flood your mind

•         A change well perfected will bring in all you desire

•         Lastly, always think win/win

If this young man based his personal mantra on those mention points, one must not wonder why he is referred to as the Rich Kid by the Don himself Dr. Obazu-Ojeagbase. Its not amazing to me any longer why he owns a good line products, wonderful matrics and a classic team. And where is his farmland? PIGGYBACK!

And so, what is PIGGYBACK? Its just a careful usage, call it leverage on other peoples work to create your own unique product both online and offline. But for the Rich Kid its an online affair.

Now how did he perfect his own? He wrote a book  and sold it via the internet. Do you understand? About what to be precise? Just DOGS! Yes common dogs,sold it on the world wide web, meet people, made money and become the Rich Kid. Don’t forget he is selling information. Too simple? Good thinking good product.

When he quoted Archimedes principle which says give me a lever strong enough and a place to stand and I will move the world, I knew he is currently standing on giant achievers shoulders. Having robbed minds with the great minds, the rob off is quite visible. He is among the gurus. He did not start from class one, he combined and leveraged on what others have already done and got his products. Such information is free but not 100% cheap, he studied and researched.

Now I can understand why I can make money without money. Writing have never been a problem for me. I will join this club.

Everything around us has the potential of being turned to GOLD only if we can look at it differently from what the normal norm use to be.

The full meaning of UGC is User Generated Content. Every website needs contact that visitors to the website can make use of. The content can be in form of short articles, tips, resources, reviews, downloadable audio and video, data or other web applications.

Generating quality contents is not a easy task for website owners. Some choose to pay other people to create contents for their site. With UGC you don’t have to worry at all. All you have to do is to create a platform that make it easy for users to create content and post it on your site. Website like ebay.com, youtube.com, myspace.com, facebook.com, and our own legwork.com.ng (nigeria website).

You don’t have to set up site project like those mentioned. You can start your own with simple blog or forum. If you have a blog site other people can post quality contents there if you want. Now what are the benefit for this User Generated Contents:

1. Free Website traffic exposure. One of the best way to get good numbers of people to visit your website is through search engine. Search engine loves website with good contents.

2. Website visitor will be promoting your website through ‘word of mouth’, sharing links to your website freely on top website. This will increase the number of other website linking to your website. Automatically, it will get your site rated better by search engine.

You get more exposure for your site. You make more money selling your own products or affiliate products to visitors.

How do we scale the clickbank hurdle?

It is obvious that clickbank don’t list nigeria as one of their accepted country. It is not only nigeria that they don’t accept. So don’t let us take it personal. Another point is that they review their policy every year and when they feel comfortable with the country they don’t accept they list the country as accepted country. They approved few countries (that were not listed on their website before) recently. So things make change in future. Hopefully they may consider nigeria.

But before then what should you do? You can go through back door. It is not only Nigerians that goes through back door. To do this you will need foreign address and phone number to sign up. There are few mail forwarding companies online that provides this service. But many of them are not good options for Nigerians because they charge too much.

How do you market your product without spending money in promotions.

You promote your product by leveraging contacts with authority (known experts) in your market. Get them to endorse your product. Some will do it free some will want to get a cut.

You can make yourself a celebrity expert in internet forums that related to your market by actively participating in the discussion and helping other members. You can place a link to your product as a signature file.

You can write and share article online. You can post your article to article directories and social networking and bookmarketing sites like www.squidoo.com and hubpages.com

You can do same thing offline here in nigeria. Just look for related (not competiting products) that compliment your product and get them endorse your product.

If your product is good you won’t have to worry much.

There are several other ways to product your product without spending money in promotions assuming you don’t have ad budget.

When you start making money through the free method you may want to invest some in paid promotion to increase your conversion.

Yes. You can use blog. I have a tutorial on how to do that in internet business club member area. How do we piggyback on clicbank products?

Clickbank.com is a third party website where digital products owners sell their downloadable and membership access product. You can piggyback on products on this websites in several ways but let me give you a tip or two here.

When next you visit clickbank marketplace notice the information in green colour beneath each products listed. The info gives you idea of performance of particular products listed. This way you can now a product that is selling. You may want to brainstorm possible product that can feed on this successful product. Create the product and sell it through the owner of the product as long as it only compliment his product but not compete with it.

The info may help you as affiliate as well in making decision on which product is good to promote.

Another good way to piggyback on clickbank products is to study the top selling products by taking notes of the performance info provided by clickbank. Now go ahead and create a product. You can do this yourself or pay somebody to create it for you. Or you may even interview somebody. Then have somebody create a graphics (ebook cover) for your new product. Then set up a download page where they can download your book. You can put a sign up form on that page so they fill the form to get access to the book. Now contact the owner of the top selling product and give it to him to give away to buyers of his product as extra bonus for buying his product. Give him the download link to give to buyers of his product.

Your benefit -

You will build list of subscribers. This is a paying list because they have already bought something before getting your book as a free bonus. Now as affiliate you can sell more products to your list as long as they continue to buy.

6. Gravity: Number of distinct affiliates who earned a commission by referring a paying customer to the publisher’s products. This is a weighted sum and not an actual total. For each affiliate paid in the last 8 weeks we add an amount between 0.1 and 1.0 to the total. The more recent the last referral, the higher the value added.

If you use clickbank:

You will have to sign up through back door because they don’t list nigeria as part of country they support.

You will be able to sell you product through clickbank and benefit from over 100,000 affiliates that may want to sell your product to make good profit as well. The increase in number of affiliates that sell your product for you equals increase in number of sales without paying for promotion.

Clickbank will send you your check through the mail forwarding company that you use or foreign address that you use.

If you use 2checkout:

You don’t need to go through back door to sign up with them.

Unfortunately, they don’t have affiliate system that makes it easy for affiliates to promote your product for you. If you want affiliate to sell your product for you, you will need your own affiliate software and you will have to manage your affiliate sales and payment yourself.

What will be my benefit when organize such or similar seminar like this to create more awareness in delta state?

I tried to register a domain name at 007names but I couldn’t do that. It requested me to register a top level domain name. Does it mean that one can’t regiser a name he disires?

For now, the only domain name type you can register with 007names is the one that ends with any of the following domain extentions:

.com, .net, .org, .biz, .info, .us, .eu, .mobi, .asia.

If your domain name is for internet marketing business either as affiliate marketer to information product seller it must be either .com, .net, or .info. So let us know the domain name you want to register.

How can one piggyback offline?

The system works perfectly offline same way it work online. However, it depends on what you do offiline presently and how you intend to use it. Let me give you few ideas.

If you want to use piggyback system with information marketing offline all you have to do is to look for experts to interview. I have done this before and have plan to still do it in future.

If you want to use the system with physical products or services you have to first identify your LEVERS. I mean successful companies or product chain to piggyback.

Mini websites are one to two pages website. The main purpose of such website is to build list of subscribers and showcase salescopy to sell a product.

To create minisite you need -

2. Knowledge of microsoft frontpage.

2. Use of free html application like nvu - www.nvu.com

You can find somebody to teach you either of those applications. I bet you they are simple to learn if you truly want to .

How do i market a consulting business online?

I can write a complete book on this but let me just give you a tip. You can always consult with me to know more. hmm.

As a consultant you can create free education material for your market and let the person that have your audience share it to them as a gift. For example if you are a stock consultant you can have a report like ‘how to choose a very good stock consultant that get you good returns for your money’.

Please explain traffic methods?

Traffic is the term use for website visitors. They are potential customers just like crowd of people that visit your shop or business place offline to check what you do.

There are two basic ways you can attract them; FREE or PAID.

Free methods are article marketing, forum marketing, press release (this can be a paid mthd when you want extra services), social media marketing (social networking, social bookmarketing, blogging, tagging and pigging etc) and of course piggybacking (leveraging every other thing else)

Paid methods - PPC ads (google adwords, yahoo and msn paid search etc), print advert etc

How do you create affiliate link or google adsense on your blog

If your website is wordpress based you can use plugins that make it easy to integrate google adsense on your blog. However, if not you will have to edit html part of your blog and place the code there yourself. Same thing with other affiliate links.

We have articles that discuss this in IBC member area anyway. And you a lucky member already just for attending ‘Rich Dad Host Rich Kid’s Event’.

Explain the process of writing copy for your book.

If you are a complete beginner I will advice that you get somebody to write your copy for you. You can pay in cash or percentage of your profit.

However, you can do it yourself. A good headline and few benefits bullets of your product will help. Visit your competitors website for inspiration. If you write it this way visit www.warriorforum.com/forum and request for copy review. You will surely get lots of advice on what you should add or remove from it to make it a great copy. This is a good option. Learning while doing. It will end up making you a master.

1. Learn how to write it yourself - a good free resource site to start with is www.copyblogger.com. Check sadc bookstore on materials on writing copy as well.

What is opt in page and how do you write it?

Opt in page is a open page mini site with sole intention of capturing information of your website visitors so that you can contact them again to build relationship with them and of course sell your products or recommend affiliate product that you join for them to buy.

Components of opt-in-page:

1. Simple copy - You have to write a simple copy for your opt in page. You will write a headline and make list of benefits visitors will get for submitting their info on your site.

2. Autoresponder form - you will have to sign up with autoresponder service provide of your choice. See recommended ones above. When you register and login to your account you can generate html code to place on your website.

You can learn graphics tool like adobe photoshop or photoshop element if you want to do it yourself.

There are other simple software online that you can use as well. Some are free while some are paid. You can search for free web graphics creator or free ecover creator.

A very nigeria marketer by name Oluwafisayo Akinlolu sold packages on web graphics not long ago. You may want to check SADC bookstore to see if you can get copy of his materia on it.

If you don’t want to waste time you may just ask anybody with photoshop knowledge to create one for you. Give him or her specification of what you want.

How do we get the emails of those we want to interview or discuss with in the forum?

Almost every forum comes with ‘email’ or ‘pm’ feature. Though some forums don’t enable either or both features. In that case you may want to follow the expert that you’ve notice to his/her website. You should be able to get his contact there.

Later part of the seminar is complex and technical, is there a way you can simplify it step by step to us as beginners or one on one training or mentoring in your office?

Yes you are right. As a beginner it will look technical. But don’t worry when you fully understand it you will see how easy it is. Sure I will be offering few one on one training and group coaching on it as well. Contact me if you are interested.

When you use US address in most online processors, now, you will be asked to provide a certain TAX CODE as a US resident anyway, around this?

You may choose UK address instead. Actually, I often suggest countries outside USA.

How do one convert one’s book from book format to e-book?

You ebook’s content must first be arranged in microsoft word. The use free pdf converter available online. A good one is http://www.freepdfconvert.com/. It is easy to use.

You have to click only two button to convert your ebook to pdf. First click on button number one ‘browse’ to search for the document that you want to convert from your pc. Locate it and click it. Then fill your email address if you want them to email converted copy of your book to you. Their is limit to the size they can email to you. Then click on convert and patiently wait to download copy of your new ebook in pdf format online.

How many pages do one need to write in the ebook that will make a full book?

It can be as little as one page and as many as 1000pages. What is important is the quality of the content. Is it solving any problem. It is better to limit your book to 30 to 60pages - short pages.

Pls, Mr Lateef how do I get a software to design the ebook cover, pls can you give me sites to get these free software?

I rarely use such free softwares but a quick google search brought result bellow. Scan and see if you can get a good one.

This is different from google programs because you are not expected to pay to promote anything here. Sure best thing to do on part time. Just plan your time well and make sure it is consistent. The value of your product will be determine by the quantify of the problem it going to solve. I will advice that you consider what your competitors charge first. It will give you idea of what is obtainable in your market. You don’t over price your product and don’t under-price it as well.

Step #1 – Pick a Niche Market

Unlike the traditional way of doing business where average business man often starts with the product to sell, if you are to succeed on internet the first thing you have to do is to identify group of targeted audience that will be paying for your product or service. I will give you two basic ways you can brainstorm good market. However, before I do that let us discuss what makes a good market first.

What make a “good” market?

1.    They are passionate people.
2.    They are desperate about their subject area or interest.
3.    There are lots of advertising sources beyond just PPC like community sites, forums, related email discussion list etc.  (PPC means pay per click. It is a paid advertising method online)
4.    The market lends itself to information product.
5.    They are proven internet buyers. If there are other people selling to this market successfully on internet it is a good indicator.
6.    Build-in need for backend products (i.e. your product doesn’t “fix them” on the first go-round. They have every reason to buy more from you.)

Examples of good markets are:

Diet and fitness
Business opportunities (i.e. how to make money on anything)
Save Money
Anything health related
Pets
Marketing training
Investments/trading
Real estate
Dating (how to attract the opposite sex).

Now that you basic idea of what makes a good market, let us discuss two ways to brainstorm good market.

Two Ways to Brainstorm Possible Markets

1.    Start with what you already know.
2.    Brainstorm using online ‘ideas hangouts’.

Start with what you already know.

Almost every human being on this earth knows something that somebody else did not know. You are probably an expert in something that several thousands of people are searching for every day online.

Get a sheet of paper and answer the following questions?

What are your hobbies and interest?
What would you do every day if you didn’t have to work?
What are some of your life experiences and achievements?
(i.e. raising children, starting a business, staying married for 50 years, planning your wedding, learning a complicated software program etc)
What problems, big or small, have you solved in your life?
(i.e. lost a lot of weight, helped a loved one through an illness, landed a great job, survived bankruptcy or divorce.)
What problems, big or small, have you yet to solve that you would like to have the solution for?

Ask the following questions about any friend, family member or anyone you know, like and trust:

1.    What hobbies and interests does _______ have?
2.    What are some of _________‘s life experiences and achievements?
3.    What problems, big or small, has _________ solved?

You will get a lot of ideas if you are able to answer the questions above about yourself and about somebody you know correctly. For example, one person that I know, like and trust is my Rich Dad Dr. Sunny Obazu Ojeagbase. I can remember he has shared his story on how he survives bankruptcy several times. And recently he celebrated 25th married anniversary. But unfortunately, I don’t think anybody has every care to interview him to get detail information about how he survive bankruptcy or manage to stay married for good 25 years when most couple nowadays often struggle to celebrate 2yrs. I know it will be a good information product to sell.

Don’t be afraid to “borrow” affinity or a story from someone else.

Make sure that you are able to find 15 to 20 other people selling digital information in that market already. To do this, click on ‘marketplace’. It will open a page where you can search for your ‘market keyword’ to know if there is information products listed on it already.

Just take note of the number of the listed products for now. You will need it later.

Step #3 – Create a short report to give away.

You have to find a way to attract people in this new market to you, build relationship with then and have opportunity to sell to them. To be able to do that you will have to give them something to attract them to you. What will be the best gift ‘bait’ to attract your market is information product that answers some of their problem.

The question now is how will you know what their problems are? Don’t worry I will lead you to a place where this people are already posting their problems. The place is called ‘online forums’, discussion boards or discussion groups.

Online forums is a place where people of the same interest meets to discuss their needs and share interesting stuffs with other people in their market. There are forums, discussion boards and groups on virtually every topic you can think of. So, you next action step is to search for top forums in your market area.

You can do that by simply using google search engine.

Type ‘your market + forum’ in google search engine. For example if your market is ‘parenting’ you will type “parenting + forum” in google search box.

Alternatively, you can check directories of forums and groups that are available online. Here is list of some directories:

http://groups.google.com
http://groups.yahoo.com

Join only active forums (i.e. forums that have a lot of members with several posts), login and spend some time to see what they are discussing. If you follow this strategy it may take you long time before you discover what their urgent problems are.

I will show you my personal strategy to discovering hundreds of what is hot in any online forums. I called this ‘response trigger’ system. All you have to do is to type response triggers like; how do I, what can I, how can I, where is, who is etc in search form of the forum you joined earlier. You will get loads of questions members are asking. You will also see response of other people as well.

To create your short report all you have to do is to list out the questions that got a lot of ‘view’ and ‘reply’ on each forum, and find experts to further answer the question. You can contact the expert that answers the question already to give you more explanation on it. Alternatively, you can get contacts experts that post articles on ezine directories like www.ezinearticles.com on your topic.

When you get response from experts that you contact, compile it together and turn it to pdf report using free online pdf converter like http://www.freepdfconvert.com/.

If your market is ‘parenting’ you will be having something like ‘77 questions on parenting defiant child by 77 top world parenting experts.’

You can also research and create the reports yourself instead of interviewing experts. But if you are not an experts in the industry already it may affect acceptance of your report.

You can as well pay somebody to write the report for you. It will just cost you more money.

Step #4 – Step up a website to give away your report.

As you now know that the main purpose of your give away report is to build list of people in your market. To be able to do that successfully you need the following things:

1.    Register a domain name. My favorite registrar is www.007names.com. The best domain name extension for this purpose is .com
2.    Sign up for website hosting account. I will recommend kiosk.ws to you because you can try their service with only $1 for 30 days. You can use their service to host several sites as well.
3.    Upload your ‘report’ on your new domain.
4.    Sign up for autoresponder account with either www.aweber.com or www.getresponse.com. You will be using this autoresponder to capture the name and address of your website visitor and contact them as well.
5.    Create or have somebody create simple ebook cover for your report.
6.    Create or have somebody create simple graphics header for you.
7.    Put it all together and set up 1 page website or pay somebody to do it for you. If you know how to use frontpage or dreamweaver you can do this easily. You can as well download template online. You will be using this one page website to capture name and email address of those that are interested in your report.
8.    Install wordpress blog site – you will be sharing other free information on your blog site for continuous relationship with your subscriber. You don’t have to register another domain name for your blog site. You can install it on the same domain it will just be on sub url (i.e. www.yourdomain.com/blog)

Note: You can learn how to complete above listed task yourself or pay somebody to do it for you.

Step #5 – Promote your report give away website.

It is time to start promoting your new website to your market audience. Remember, your main goal is to build list of subscribers that you can start building relationship with. There are several ways to get people to visit your website. But we won’t be using any of the common ways to get website visitors because what we need is not just ordinary visitors, we need paid visitors (i.e. people that have proven they have money to spend and they are ready to spend it).

In last edition of SDE I shared piggybacking strategy with you. It is time to use the strategy again. We will be leveraging on success of other information product owners that we discover in step #2 above. You will be giving them the opportunity to give away your new report as bonus to buyers of their product.

If you are able to get 20 people that agree to give your report as added bonus to their paid customers and if in one month each of them gets 50 buyers on average that buy their product and download your report, you will be having 1,000 subscribers (20 X 50). It is obvious that some of them will sell more than 50 while some will not sell up to that. However, it still won’t take you to have list of people that are already spending money in your market.

Step #6 – Start building relationship with them.

Don’t try to sell anything to them in the first 3 to 4 weeks. Concentrate only on building relationship with them. Search internet for free stuffs they may like and share the links on your blog site. You can even write short articles and post it on your site as well.

Step #7 – Ask them what they want next.

Some of them will probably be asking you series of questions or requesting your recommendations by now. However, you still have to ask them so that you can know what they are ready to buy.

Go to www.surveymonkey.com, create a simple 10 questions survey and email it to them. Ask them questions like;

What is your number one problem that you will like to solve now?
What did you want to know that you didn’t get in other product you’ve bought?
What are you is most important to you now?
How much are you ready to pay for such information now?

You only need 100 of your 1,000 subscribers to fill your survey in other to get idea of their needs. You will be amazed with their responses.

Once you have idea of product they want to buy all you have to do is to create it for them. If you can create it pay somebody to create it for you. You can outsource creation of your digital information products to freelancers on any of the following site; elance.com, scriptlance.com, rentacoder.com etc.

Step #8 – Set up your sales page.

You will have to set up another one page website to sell your new digital product. To have a complete salespage you need following:

1.    Sales copy to sell your new digital product. You don’t have to be a professional to write a salescopy. If you can write a good headline and list out the benefits of your new product to your audience, that is all you need. Visit www.copyblogger.com for basic headline tips. If you want a professional job you can outsource it to professional writer for as little as $100.
2.    You need a way to receive credit card payment online. I will advice that you sign up for www.2checkout.com account. It will cost you one time set up fee of $49. If you have 2checkout account you can receive credit card and paypal payment on your website.
How will 2checkout send you your earnings?
As international client you have 3 payment options availble you.
1. 2checkout can air mail your check to you.
2. They can send it to you via international wire transfer.
3. They have a card system now card payoneer. It is 2checkout prepaid debit card that is mastercard. They send you the card. Every week they pay your earning directly into your account with them and you can access it with the card anywhere in the world on ATM machine that is mastercard enabled or any where mastercard is accepted.

Step #9 – Sell your new digital information product and smile to bank.

You have 1,000 subscribers you can send your offer to already. So just send them email offer with you autoresponder.

Possible Income:

Let us say the price of your product is $27
You send email offer to 1,000 subscribers.
If only 5% of them respond you will be having 50 sales
50 sales X $27 = $1,350

If 10% of them buy you will be having $2,700.
If 15% of them buy you will be having $4,050.

Step #10 – Recruit affiliates to help you sell more.

The owners of the related information product you find above probably have several people that are helping them to sell their information products already. This people are known as affiliate. You can find this people by directly contacting the owner of the product or searching their product using google search engine.

Recruit several affiliates to help you sell. You can also partner with others selling related products as well.

If you are able to recruit 20 active affiliates that sells 50 copies of your product in one month your total sales for that money will be 1,000 copies.

Let us do the calculation –

1,000copies X $27 = $27,000

If you give each affiliate 50% you will be having $13, 500.

Step #11 – Sell it and Repeat the process.

You can sell your site after some months for X7 to X10 of the monthly earning. For example if your site is already earning $1, 000 (from above example) you can sell it for $7,000 or $10, 000. You can sell your site on http://marketplace.sitepoint.com/.

If you sell your site you can repeat the process. You can now make it better now that you have a lot of money to invest.
