Master Chin and The Way Of Internet Marketing

An eager student of Internet Marketing once went to visit Master Chin to inquire about the way of internet marketing. This student had studied almost every internet marketing technique and method there was.

When the student arrived he immediately begin talking about every technique and method he used. He than begin to talk about how long he had been internet marketing and how he had read every guide there was.

The student continued to talk of everything he knew about internet marketing. While the student continued to talk of all his techniques Master Chin began to pour the student a cup of tea. Master Chin kept pouring until the cup began to overflow, the student noticed and exclaimed “The cup is full! No more will go in!”

“You are like this cup,” Master Chin Replied “You are full of your own opinions, observations, and speculations. How can I teach you The Way of Internet Marketing unless you first empty your cup.”

A monk once asked Master Chin,

“Master what is the Secret of Article Marketing”

Master Chin Replied,

“Write your articles, and promote them.”

The monk than said

“Surely it’s not that simple. There must be more too it!”

“Yes,” replied Master Chin “Repeat, and than Repeat.”

A student was having trouble with his internet marketing “I’m not making any sales! My articles are not on Google’s first page. I can’t find any good niches. All the best niches are already taken. I get so distracted online, and I get bored easily with Article Marketing. It’s awful!”

“It Will Pass.”
said Master Chin matter-of-factly.

“My Article Marketing is working! I’ve made some sales! My article is one Googles first Page! I found some awesome niches and I really enjoy article marketing now! It’s wonderful!”

“It Will Pass.”
said Master Chin matter-of-factly.

A student visited Master Chin and said with an eager attitude, “I am devoted to learning everything about Internet Marketing. How long will it take me to master it?”

Casually Master Chin replied, “Ten Years.”

Impatiently the student replied “I want to learn it faster. I’m willing to work twice as hard and I will study 20 hours a day if I have too! How long will it take then?”

Master Chin replied “20 years.”

A martial arts student went to his teacher and said earnestly, “I am devoted to studying your martial system. How long will it take me to master it.”

The teacher’s reply was casual, “Ten years.”

Impatiently, the student answered, “But I want to master it faster than that. I will work very hard. I will practice everyday, ten or more hours a day if I have to. How long will it take then?”

The teacher thought for a moment,
“20 years.”

When Master Chin was an old man he continued doing Internet Marketing, despite his great success and his old age.

His pupils felt sorry to see a great Master work so hard at such an old age after he had already attained his success. They knew he would not listen to their advice to stop, so they hid his internet marketing tools.

That same day Master Chin did not eat. He did not eat the next day either. After the third day of not eating, the pupils thought Master Chin was angry for hiding his internet marketing tools, so they decided to put them back..

Once they put them back Master Chin ate and worked as before. That evening Master Chin said one thing to his pupils, “No work. No Food.”

A Lord once asked Master Chin to suggest how he should spend his time Internet Marketing. He complained of his long hours he spent starting up his business and how monotonous it started to feel.

Master Chin Wrote 8 Chinese Characters and gave them to the Lord:

Inch Time Foot Gem

The Lord Studied the Characters and in the morning when he woke up, he came to the realization of what these characters mean.

The Lord found Master Chin and told him,

” I understand now,

Master Chin looked at the Lord smiled and said, “Today you are the Master.”

Dear friend, do you find yourself sitting down with blood shot eyes facing your computer? …While the rest of the family is either waiting for you to get ready or perhaps has gone out without you to a place where you were all suppose to go.

Do you notice you jump on the PC once you are back home …seems difficult to find time for anything else …there are only but a few reasons why you won’t be sitting next to your system and they included; inability on your side to make it to any of the internet service providers to make payment, you have paid but the service is just not working …our honourable PHCN (formally known as NEPA) has done it again or you just couldn’t get fuel for your generator.

Do you find yourself taking your meals while going through your emails, reading another web page, and that is also while you are waiting for a free download to finish, so you can start digesting the content that is promising you something bigger than the last email you received?

…You are in bed but you just can’t take your mind off that offer …if only I can get that done now.

Or

If you are like many others that browse from a cafe, then you are always asking the cafe attendant for just a few minutes …you need a download to finish …you need to hit one more link …yet you have been browsing for God knows when.

I don’t need to ask, if you see yourself doing that. We all do unless you are not serious about the subject of internet marketing. Infact I think I should rather ask you how many times have you fallen asleep while working on your system?

Why write on this?

It recently came to my awareness that people generally find it difficult to actually take out some time to rest not to talk of taking a Vacation, especially when we tend to feel job or economic pressure, just as the world is somewhat experiencing at the moment.

For those of us in Lagos we may have taken sometime to rest today been the last Saturday (environmental sanitation) of the month, not because we want to but because their is a “no movement sanction” on such days.

Come to think of it, apart from your night rest and days as describe above, do you ever find out time to rest and relax your mind from all the challenges that life could bring? There is something about balancing work, rest and other daily activities that can make a whole lot of different in the result you get.

My chairman once said, “you can not operating at your full capacity without rest”. That’s very true …you will not just be operating below expectation, you will also not be useful to yourself, your family, your coworkers as well as your company.

As you make it a point of duty to log on to the internet also make it a priority to create time to rest and find time to attend to other things.

…imagine you broke down/fall sick and just can’t do anything but rest, infact the doctor asked that you stay in the hospital, so they can monitor you more closely (though not good for your imagination). Will you do otherwise?

For instance, it is our culture here in the office to go on a one day off basically on the last day of every month, though we tend to skip this atimes, especially when we have a few extra stuffs to do. You can do the same if your work allows you, If not make an alternative provision.

If you are a working class, you may want to ask a trusted coworker to back you up (am not suggesting you have them lying on your behave) while you take some time off, they should be willing to do it for you most especially when you offer to return the favor.

All you need is a peaceful retreat from stress that may arise from work whether at your place of work or what may unknowing be turning to internet addition. You need to balance things up with how you live your entire life.

You might want to close early at work on such days, if you won’t be allowed to stay away and just go somewhere to cool off. Just find something you enjoy doing that does not require effort.

You have as many options as your imagination can think of …from going for a treat at any of the eatery to a walk at the beach …you might as well choose to go watch a movie …what about visiting places you have never been to before? Whatever the option, just think it through.

Don’t wait until you are knocked down or burned out by the unnecessary stress (called work) that we sometimes place on ourselves. Taking out time to rest and relax while you get involve in other things that can help you get rejuvenated, therefore making it possible for you to resume work with more energy and focus.

If you find it difficult to do any of the suggestions above …here is some thing I do once in a while, I plan my leisure and other activities that free up my mind in such a way that I can have them while at home.

I sometime choose to play with the kids of my neighbour …find friends and just chat off the feeling of stress and pressure. These days I newly incorporated one good idea I have come to love …I simply put off my system no matter what I have to do and head for midweek service …I was really finding it difficult doing any of this things last year.

Bringing this to an end, I need to say that rest, vacations and a total balance of your life activities are very important, just as making enough money is important. You need to watch your online habit, don’t allow it become an addition.

I perceive someone, saying “let it become an addiction as long as am making enough money”.

Nevertheless, I need you to remember that, this is an order from your doctor. So, if I were you I will take it while I get myself ready for what is to come in the coming month.

…Though we don’t actually take the advice of doctors in this part of the word serious, I want to advice that we all turn a new leaf.

I have to stop here and possibly plan my time off; I need to join you in taking a rest. My Boss was considering going to Ikoyi on Monday, actually he had in mind doing that yesterday but for the busy week at SADC which held the sixth edition of an Internet Marketing Boot Camp tagged, Demystifying the internet VI, a one week event in which he was  a facilitator.

Am hoping he ask me to come along, hopeful I can convince him that we should go see the “PALMS” …since I have been considering going there, I heard a whole lot of things had change since I last visited it.

Don’t worry, I may as well ask you to join us, once he approves of it but until then go have some fun …catch some rest …just give yourself some break and don’t forget live a balance life. You do need it.

Happy New year! So its 2009.
Today is the 5th day of the year and the Big Bang kicks off today …It promise to be Big. All I can say is “It’s time for a CHANGE. Yes, its time for RESULT.” Are you set for the journey ahead?

…As I Meditate.
It was as if I had a voice saying “the holidays are over.” “But what does that have to do with the New Year?” Another voice asked. A third voice then said. “It’s time to get back to work.”

Work! screamed the first two voices, and without wasting time, the third voice replied saying, “YES SERIOUS AND PRODUCTIVE WORK.”

“Where do I start?” Asked one of the first two voices. “After all I have been working all through the other years.”

The third voice finally asked the other two voices, the following questions before going silent.

First it said, “you’ve bought a lot of revenue-generating training material, attended seminars, read up every email you got from those on whose list you are, but how many of them have you actually followed to the very end?”

“Are you actually doing what is required of you?”

“You have some results to show for it but how explosive is the result compare to the information at your disposal?”

The best part of the questions that actually got the first two voices thinking, was the question;

“In this one year will you make it a priority to take the bull by the horns and build an explosive Internet business?”

Dear friend and reader, while the above illustration may sound like a story, where would you place yourself in that conversation? First, Second or the third voice?

If my guess is right, then you will want to take some time and actually ponder on the question, “In this one year will I make it a priority to take the bull by the horns and build an explosive Internet business?”

And if you are a working class, you can rephrase the question as “Is this the year that I will quit my JOB because I AM making more money online than my BOSS can ever pay me? -  I purposely personalize those statement …just to enable it sink deep down your imagination.

As you think about the beginning of the New Year and all the things you want to achieve, below are a few lines to meditate on, it will surely give light to your internet marketing dreams even as the Big Bang kicks off today.

First I want you to know that 2008 is gone forever.
However, it was a remarkable year, one that left us with lots of memories. It left a significant footprint in the sands of history. 2008 will always be remembered by student of history …Americans …Kenyans …as well as Nigerians.

It was a year that put to office the 44th President of the United States, Barack Hussein Obama, the first African American to be elected President of the United States …All things are possible. That was the lesson.

One question you may ask yourself “Did he or his parent ever imagined he might run for president, talk less of winning?”

…Actually if they did, they may as well have called him BARRY instead of BARACK – Laughing.

Back here in Nigeria, it was a thing of joy as the Labour Party flag bearer Adams Oshiomole witnessed the election results upturned and himself declared winner of the gubernatorial position and eventually sworn in.

And for those of us at Internet Marketing Nigeria, it was a year of achievement and to our subscribes I know it was a turning point in the life of many especially for the lucky winner of our do it all for you web project -Jimmy Tonade.

Nevertheless, it was not all good, the whole world in general had it own fair share of the bad times that 2008 brought. Many were affected by the Global Crisis.

There were reports of earthquakes with China accounting for a substantial amount of casualties.

Whether you heard of it or not, there were incidents of suicide killings and bombings in Iraq and more recently Mumbai in India.

The Nigeria stock market crash was yet another blow that left many broke and confuse. I learnt that some people had to take their lives,  maybe they had all their life savings in there.

Some stock brokers went into hiding, trying to save their heads after all the failed advice they had left their clients with.

You may never have to remember the Jos riots that led to the death of over two hundred people and an undisclosed number of National Youth Service Corps members but what of those that were directly affected.

…Not a pleasant experience.

Why am I bring this up at a time like this, when we are suppose to be celebrating life? And looking up to a promising year.

Dear friend, I don’t know for you but I know there are a lot of people who will get carried away by the success they already have and forget there is even more to achieve. Refuse to be one.

If for you, 2008 was nothing good to write about then I have to mention this. However bad it has been, dwelling in the past won’t get you anywhere.

Failures, challenges and mistakes are inevitable in life. You may be faced with some disturbing ones. However refuse the temptation of never wanting to venture out because of the fear of failure. For It is not how many times you fail that matters, what matters is your ability to get up, dust yourself and say to yourself “yet another trial”.

Do yourself a favor to forget the past …put the past where it belongs – behind you and move on with your life. This is your year! You can make it.

Finally, I want you to know that for the fact you are living and reading this, you should be thankful to God and that this is a confirmation that if you play your part, the year will be a great one for you.

Setting goals is one thing while going for your goals is yet another and it is the latter that makes you.

What are the 3 most important reason why you failed to achieve your internet marketing goals?

1) Failure on your part to set achievable Goals.
That might sound simple …but many a times we seems to do the opposite. It is not enough to set goals. You must make sure you are setting achievable goals.

How do you set achievable goals?

Don’t just say I want to make $100,000 online by the end of 2009. Though that is very achievable, even if you are a complete newbie. You should rather be able to break it down to something very realistic.

When you set and write Goals, do you make it in such a way that it will guide you on what you will need to do daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly and Annually?

Below is the guideline I personal follow:

A year a dream

A month a change

A week a goal

A day a task.

With this in mind at the end of any year, all I have to do is start with the end in mind (for instance a dream of $100,000 by year end) then I try to figure out what change I must see by the end of each month to accomplish the dream (An extra 500 paying subscribers on my niche site or to create 2 or more profitable mini niche site monthly that brings in an extra $500 each monthly).

Bearing in mind that I want to see a change of an extra 500 paying subscribers monthly, I could as well set a weekly goal of contacting 2 or more JV partners, who I will be asking to add one of my ebooks as a bonus to their product as a value for their subscribes. All their subscribes will be doing to get the ebook will be to fill a short form (Opt in). He get value for his subscribes while I get paying subscribers.

And for the daily task, I start out with finding my much needed JV partners and for another day I just come up with a well written mail that I will be sending out to my likely to be JV partners.

…That just the simplest illustration of the guideline I and many successful online marketers follow. To have a well detailed guide, you may join our 90days big bang training.

2) Not writing them down.
At this point, don’t forget to Write out your Goals, don’t get tricked into commiting your Goals to memory …WRITE them down , stick them where you will see them often …feel free to carry them in your wallet.

3) Not focusing on them until you achieve them.
You have to stay focus. Focus …Focus …Focus. I think it was Robert kiyosaki who in one of his book gave the below acronyms for focus.

F – Follow

O – One

C – Course

U – Until

S – Successful

This is self explanatary.

In summary, what you will want to do is to first see the Very end from the beginning and that is what will have been helping you see …it all about the lifestyle, where you are the boss, determine your working hours. when?, where? and how? you want to work.

What you could do with $100,000 through out the year …maybe it a new car, a house or you might have been thinking of tieing the knot with that beautiful woman as my Chairman will always put it or do i say your African queen according to Tuface.

Once you can see a clear picture of the end, you will then want to have short term goals. These are simple and smaller steps you will have to achieve to get you to your bigger goals. The questions you might have to ask yourself here is, What are the little things that must be done or met in order for your to accomplished your bigger Goals?

Come to think of it, don’t you think is easier to achieve little things which will inturn bring you the satisfaction and motivation to forge ahead and go for your bigger Goal?

Now don’t just sit there reading this, bring out your pen or pencil, is time to put down your goals and if you have already done that you might want to make it more realistic.

And don’t forget, the 90days Big bang training, this is the “BOTTOM POT” of all the information will have been bringing to you since the very first day of this month. You will be getting tips and ideas that will help make 2009 better than past 10yrs of your life.

1. Not Carry Around A Notebook – Or something.

I can’t tell you how many times I came up with an idea while I was out taking a walk. If I had a notebook or something with me, I could have jotted it down instead of having to hope I remembered it when I got home. Many times, I did not. Today, I have my little pad and I take it everywhere. This little pad banked me over $1700 in 4 days and has been the reason for some of my successful projects.

2. No Building subscribers List -

No, it is not a cliche. I sometimes make $500 in a day just sending an email to my list. The key is not to bombard them with offers day after day. Give them quality content, treat them with respect and then when you DO have something to offer,they are more likely to be receptive to it. Having mastery of list building alone can make you 4 figures income every month effortlessly. If you don’t have a list, you are throwing money away. If you need help on this, you know how to contact me.

3. Not understanding psychology behind every purchase.

Why did people buy online? If you must make money in this field you must know how to sell. You must understand why people buy. Take as many courses as you can in this area. If you don’t understand why people buy things, you can’t sell to them. People do not buy things because they need them. They buy things because they think they will make their lives better. Then they justify the purchase by telling themselves they needed it. It’s more complex than this, obviously, but that’s the 2 cent tour. Study this. Your business will increase ten-fold because of it.

4. Not Testing and Tracking business activities.

Many internet marketers don’t know the number of people that visit their website, number of those that visit offer page, number of those that buy, how often they buy and many more. If you don’t Testing And Tracking you can GROW your business. It’s as simple as that.

You put 20 ads out on the Internet and make a few sales. Problem is, you have no idea which ad brought in the sale. So how do you know which ad to kill and which ad to keep running? You don’t. Testing and tracking, with so many variables to running a business, is so important that I can’t stress it enough. This applies to ads, sales pages, or anything where you are deciding between using X or Y. leave this out at your own risk.

5. Not outsourcing task

You can’t do everything in your business and still expect growth. No way. You have to outsource part of your business to others. Most especially part of your business that requires skills that you are not good at. Be very careful when you do this. Get everything in writing as far as what is to be done and when it’s expected to be completed by. Yes, things happen, but as a paying customer you have the right to expect your work to be done on time and with the
quality that you are paying for. Expect no less.

6. Giving away quality traffic for pennies

Don’t Give Away Your Traffic For Pennies – Adsense fans can bite me on this one.
Why give away your traffic for pennies, when instead you can replace those Adsense ads
with affiliate links and make some real money. Yes, if Adsense is the only way to
monetize your niche, sure. But if there are products you can sell, sell them. A good
review will sell more products than all your Adsense clicks combined. After using
Adsense myself for over 2 years and actually testing this out on one site, I can honestly
say my ebook sales out perform my Adsense earnings by a mile.

7. Waiting for time of desperation

Don’t Wait Until You’re Desperate – So many people come here and scream that they lost their job and need to make money FAST. It doesn’t work that way. Building a business online takes time and there is no quick fix. Don’t wait until you HAVE to make money to decide you want to do it. Go about starting a business in a systematic way and you’ll be much better off. It’s a lot harder to work under extreme pressure. Believe me, I know. I am speaking from experience. Don’t do what I did.

Hello and welcome to December, the very last month of this year 2008. I think and I know that this is a perfect time to start setting your goals for 2009 and that is if you have not started doing so already?

Did you set goals for 2008?

…Did you achieve your 2008 goals? If you did not what about consulting your compass, so you can start doing necessary corrections and adjustment where need be.

Do you feel helpless?

Are you tired of living paycheck to paycheck?

Are you not tired of reading about how some guys just like you are making a boat load of cash while you are yet to make a dime and yet you have bought into every formular and system, attended every seminars and read every single ebooks that came your way.

Can you relate to any of this?

Do you know that you can take charge of your future to a very large extend?

Dear friend, I want you to join me in doing this little exercise but before I share it with you, read this short but terrible story.

A friend of my recently told me about a friend of his who work in a job that makes him to get up as early as 4am, so he can quickly get ready for work, bit the traffic and get to work on time. The worse of it all is that he can’t leave the office until about 8pm, getting back to the road he is held back by traffic and at times he just finds it difficult to get bus on time. This makes him get back home around 10.30pm most night.

What a terrible experience?  But the fact remains that many are still stuck in this kind of dead end jobs.

Now, Read through the next few paragraphs, after which I will like you to suspend reading any further and trying doing the exercise for the next 30minutes or more.

Are you ready? Let go.

Close your eyes, if you have to then try and picture what you want for yourself in the next six months to one year.

For those of you working in jobs, you don’t like and conditions you won’t even wish your enemies like the one above. How will you like to walk into the office of your boss by the end of next year and tell him, “Sir, I have decided to redirect my skills, knowledge and energy? I have choosen to follow my passion, you are thereby fired!”

What about starting or growing that dream business of yours?

Imagine going on vacation to the United State or any other country of your choice by the end of next year.

What about getting the branch Manager of your bank to come to know you in person just because of the change your account will experience? I mean you having a very healthy bank account.

Imagine buying or building a new house, in one of the choicest area around town and having your parents, brothers, sisters even your friends come over. Taking them around the house …showing them the new car you just bought and finally you walk them over to your computer …punch in the URL of your first website, as it loads you turn to them and say, “Here is one of my businesses. I was able to buy this house and my car from the proceeds of this website.”

Remember, there is no limit to what you can imagine. Only the one you choose to place on your imagination. So let your imagination run wide.

Wait a minute, you are not allowed to read beyond these lines, if you have not done the above exercise.

With the above questions and exercise you should be able and ready to take a deep look at how you have spent your time, money, resources this very pasting year and start preparing yourself for the coming year.

While many wait for the beginning of a new year before setting their goals, starting early will definitely allow you plenty of time to decide what you really want to achieve come 2009.

However, if you are quite familiar with how Goals are set and achieved, you know that you have to continue to consult your compass which might lead you to doing course corrections were necessary. This is one basic reason why you must start setting your goals now, if you haven’t?

And if you happen to be among those who just find it difficult to write down their goals but rather commit it to memory, I will advice you turn a new leave today and start writing down your goals, so you can always go back to it and checkout your progress as frequent as possible, thereby making necessary adjustment where need be.

How times flies? It was just about this time last year that our own Rich Kid, Lateef Olajide was honoured as the young entrepreneur of the year 2007. An event that left those of us that were actually present inspired.

Behold! It’s 2008 and as it has been a practice for the award to be held towards the end of each year, that of this year was no exception as the award took place on Saturday the 8th of November.

A BRIEF LOOK AT THE EVENT

As this year’s award took place, all roads led to the Lagos Sheraton Hotel & Suites where the event was schedule to hold. Present at the event were readers of SuccessDigest Extra, members of SuccessDigest leaders club, members of Successful Entrepreneurs Network (SEN), members of the Board of the organization, friends and well wishers of the awardees and that of Complete Communications, publishers of SuccessDigest and Complete Sports.

Among the many personalities who graced the award ceremony were well known clerics like Bishop Moses, Bishop Geroge Amu and Pastor Ehimika Emmanuel.

At about 2.15, with many of the guest and participants seated, the anchor for the event finally took to the podium. He called for the opening prayers after which Dr. Sunny Obazu-Ojeagbase, the President/founder of Success Attitude Development Center, organizers of the award, gave his welcome address.

The time finally came for the award proper. One after the other the awardees were called upon to be honoured. Among the awardees were great entrepreneurs who have contributed immensely to the economic growth of our great country, Nigeria. They include Dipo Davies, Publisher/CEO, Castles Magazine, Mrs. Ibidun Ituah-Ighodalo, CEO, Elizabelt-R, Mrs Tara Fela-Durotoye, CEO, House of Tara, Mr. Sunny Elem, MD/CEO, Wealth Team Networks, Mrs. Betty Irabor, Editor-in-chief, Genevieve Magazine,

Also awarded were Mr. Oluwasanmi Akindipe MD/CEO, Set Consultant Service, Mr. Gbeminiyi Oluwabusola, MD, Techclick Limited,(link), Mr. Tajudeen Adepetu, MD/CEO, Consolidated Media Associates Limited, Paul Oluwabanjo, MD/CEO, Webpower Continental Services.

One of the highlights of the event, that might have probably brought many SENetworkers to the event was the Raffle draws in which Mr. Kenneth Omoregbe won the 1st prize of the (KIA PICANTO CAR) while Kalu Peace won the 2nd prize of ($500,000) worth of shares. The 3rd price was won by Abikoye Joseph, making him the proud owner of a brand new laptop.

Apart from the winners of the raffle draws, also rewarded were three Other SENetworkers who were said to have been able to register more people into the network.

In between the presentations of awards and rewards, was a short drama pieces, traditional dance, musical stage performance which was performed by the combined SuccessDigest Leaders’ Club (SDLC) and Aity Inyang Band. Pastor Ehimika Emmanuel also gave a brief motivational talk. All these made the event a very entertaining and memorable ceremony.

The award been the 12th of its kind finally came to an end after the vice president, Pastor (Mrs.) Esther Obazu-Ojeagbase gave the vote of thanks while Bishop Amu said the closing prayers. At this junction I must say that the event was more organized than the previous ones.

I therefore use this opportunity to say well done to the organization and to let them know that we are expecting more improvement come next year and to the recipients of this years award as well as to the winner of SENetwork rewards, I say a big Congratulation.

LESSONS FOR ALL
The award organized by the publishers of SuccessDigest Extra with the vision of discovering, encouraging and honouring exceptional entrepreneurs in Nigeria was yet another success and inspiration to many.

As an entrepreneur, business person, internet marketer, information marketer and/or success minded fellow, this I know for sure is a time of the year when most of us reflect on what we might have achieved and what we might have not.

Dear friend, why it may not be surprising that many of us struggle very hard to achieve success. There are still quite a number of people who make it to the top and become very popular just like those who had just been honoured.

There is also these other group of people who seems to get tired along the line only to give up their precious dreams; they are always complaining about how hard it is to learn new things and how difficult it is to get along. They seem to have every reason why things don’t work.

Before you decide which group you belong to and which you might want to stitch to, let take a look at what the awardees had in common. During the award ceremony, while the awardees stood, waiting to be honoured, a short video clip of an interview that probably took place in their individual offices, about their journey to success was shown to the participants of the event. They were all inspiring.

What the awardees had in common.

1) They are Entrepreneur who saw and took hold of opportunity.

2) They had challenges/failures at some point in time.

3) They had setbacks which they actually took as stepping stones.

4) They all have a story to tell. This is what I call “the Story behind the Glory”.

5) They did not get their over night.

6) They refuse to accept defeat. One shocking example was what Mr. Sunny Elem, MD/CEO, Wealth Team Networks said during his interview. He said there was a time when he had to sleep in a bus. Who could ever think that such a superstar, once had to sleep in a bus, if he had not told the story himself?

I have only named a few of what they had in common, if you were at the event you might want to add your own observation.

Dear reader, I decided to share this with you today, to encourage and motivate you just as the event had motivated those of us who were present.

I believe that success in life and business is built over time and for those of us who are internet marketer, I want you to know that, it takes one skill at a time to get there.

When you start out, you likely start by learning how to pick a niche market that has buyers. You also get to learn how to do keyword research, how to go about blogging, writing and submission of articles, etc.

Like I wrote in one of my past articles tittled Internet Marketing: The learning curve. “As you advance, you might begin to see the need to learn HTML, graphic design, web design, copywriting…Remember it’s a continuous process so don’t be in a hurry to get it all at the start…”

Yes, you can’t dive at it all at once; rather you might choose to learn something like keyword research this week, next week or there about you decide to learn blogging and so on. One thing you will also want to consider is the amount of time you are willing to spend on a daily/weekly basis.

Why it’s no lies that some people succeed in whatever they do due to genius. I have come to discover that the best and surest way to be successful is by learning and doing what is to be done. Just make sure you draw a line between learning and doing. Don’t wait to learn everything before you set out.

…Keeping learning …keep doing. That is one of the secret of successful people.

Before I bring this article to an end, I want to bring this to your notice; one of the major causes of failure is impatient. You see, majority are guilty of impatient. I am likewise guilty of it. We all need to learn to be patient.

When it comes to money and success we want to see results right away but we can afford to go to school for so many years, most times starting from nursery school up to the university all for the sake of a degree.

Dear friend, the truth is unless you have so much money, influence to get you success or maybe you somehow get hold of a wonder working charm (that is if there is one) you will have to work out whatever is it you want to be successful at and it surely does take some time.
