There is a reason why Ezine Articles, as of this writing, has an Alexa rank of 539. I’d only be guessing at how many articles get submitted to them each day. It must be more than they can handle because my articles are now supposed to be approved in 24 hours and I have some out there that are waiting for approval now for 3 days.

They must be swamped. Yes, everybody and their grandmother is getting into article writing. Unfortunately, not everybody knows HOW to write an article that’s going to get people to their site.

This series will give you a few tips and then direct you to a resource that will teach you everything you need to learn plus give you a list of sites where you can not only submit your articles but actually get paid for them.

The first thing you need to learn about writing articles is that you MUST write articles on topics that people will want to read. How can you find out what topics people are interested in? Very simple.

What you do is go to one of the online keyword tools. I personally use Wordtracker because Overture just isn’t reliable anymore. Some days it works, others it doesn’t.

What you do is type in the topic you want to write on and then type in the word “articles”.

For example, Advertising Articles

If I do this, I come up with 37 daily searches for advertising articles. This is good. This shows me that people are looking for articles on how to advertising.

If you do a search and find there are no results for that topic, there is no point in writing on it because nobody will be searching for your article and thus nobody will end up going to your site.

So this is the first place you have to start. Confine your writing to things that people are interested in. Otherwise, you’re just wasting your time.

In this lesson, I want to cover another form of advertising which is also very effective and won’t cost you a penny to do. This is one of my favorites.

Whether you know it or not, content is king. Think I’m kidding? Go to any web site and take a look at what’s there. It’s content. The most popular web sites have the most content. It’s what makes the Internet go round.

What does this have to do with advertising?

Everything.

One of the most effective forms of advertising is writing content, or more specifically, writing articles and submitting them to article directories.

Why?

Because when people go to the Internet to look up things, something I do everyday, they will ultimately find these directory articles because they are in great favor with the search engines. Therefore, there is a good chance that they will in turn find YOUR article. The more articles you submit, the more
chances you have of being discovered.

So how do you take advantage of this? How is this advertising?

It just so happens that the article directories allow you to put, at the end of your articles in what they call a resource box, a link to your site. Why is this important? Because if somebody like  your article and wants to learn more, they’ll have a link at the end to go to. End result? They come to your site where you now have a chance to sell them your product or service.

So, what’s the best way to take advantage of this?

The first thing is to write an article that is informative but doesn’t give ALL the information. Make it so that they need to go to your site to get the rest of it.

The second thing is to write a resource box that compels people to do this. Writing something like “John Doe is a marketer who has…blah, blah, blah” is NOT going to do it. You have to write something compelling. Something like this…

“If you’re tired of not making a living online, visit my web site
and get your FREE report on…etc. The URL is”

That’s how you get people to come to your site through your resource box. Trust me, it works. Write a good article that gives them a piece of the puzzle, give them a reason to want to learn more and then finally write a compelling resource box, and you’ll have a steady stream of visitors to your site.

And it won’t cost you a DIME.

If I was put up against a wall and asked what the single most important aspect of making a living online was, I’d say without hesitation, advertising. Why?

Because no matter what your business is, if it involves dealing with other people in any way, then they have to know you exist or you make no money. Are we in agreement there? Great! So let’s get right down to the matter of effective
advertising.

The problem with advertising on the Internet is that there is a lot of crap out there, such as posting FFA ads, submitting to safelists and things of that nature. You can waste a lot of time advertising in ways that are not effective. So in the advertising portion of this newsletter series, I am going to focus on the most effective ways to advertise online.

In this lesson, I want to talk about forums. Yes, forums, the places where you are NOT allowed to advertise. If this sounds like double talk, it’s not. Forums are my key source of promotion. Why?
Because I learned how to use them effectively. I am now going to teach you to do the same.

Whatever your niche is, whether it be copywriting or programming or health care or whatever, you need to find the top forums on the Internet for that niche. After you find them, you need to go there, sign up and do NOTHING.

That’s right. Do NOTHING. Just familiarize yourself with the forum. See what’s talked about. See who the main forum participants are. Get a feel for the atmosphere of the forum. Are new people greeted friendly or are the looked at with scorn and suspicion? You need to really understand how that forum ticks before you dive in and start making posts. The only way to do this is to read, read, and read some more.

After you have a good idea of how the forum behaves, or doesn’t behave, introduce yourself. Do NOT post any kind of ad or even allude to your site in any way. Just say hello and tell them that you’re looking forward to participating in the discussion and contributing to the forum. Don’t say you’re looking forward to learning. That makes you sound like a new person. You’re going to establish yourself as an expert, so don’t say you’re looking
forward to learn.

Then, look at the questions being asked. If you can answer them, do it. If not, find the answers. Remember, you’re establishing yourself as an authority. You will keep on doing this while you are there. Try to spend a couple hours a day at the forum doing this.

Over time, this is what’s going to happen.

People ARE going to start to look at you as an authority on the subject that the forum is about. They will begin to ask for your advice. They will start to look at your signature, where you will have a link to your product or service. You will NOT have to advertise a thing. You will begin to make sales just from being a participant at the forum.

This will not happen over night. But when it happens, this forum, and all the forums you join, will be one of your main sources of income.

Don’t spam! Don’t argue! Don’t be anything but 100% professional.

How to measure result

You can’t improve on what you don’t know. It’s a must you have metrics of your website. There are several ways to know what is going on your site. Some are obviously visible. And there are some that you can’t know without using another online tracking system.

Some of the visible result you can measure on your site are – the number of people that subscribe to your list, number of people that bought your affiliate program and of course number of people that post comment on your site.

Knowing other information will help you to improve on performance of your site. For example, you can improve conversion rate of your opt in page if you know number of people that visit the site. You can then do the calculation to number the percentage of those that visit that subscribe.

Now how do you know number of people that visit your website?

It is simple using online tracking tools. Most of the good ones are free. The two that I use most are google analytics and statcounter. Sign up for either of the services today and start getting the numbers.

In part two of yesterday’s post I asked you to sign up with few web2.0 site. Today we are going to explore how to use facebook – one of the web2.0 social networking site for traffic.

But before then let me quickly share something with you. It is composition of web2.0. You will be coming across terms like micro blogging, social bookmarketing, social networking and social content sharing site in the course of this lesson.

Don’t let the terms bother you. They are all different type of web 2.0. It’s still about how people share content and ideas with each other online.

Tags: Tag anyone that is in any posted note, video, or photo. Although you might initially think that tags are limited to those people, you can actually tag anyone—so expand your list to include others in your network for further exposure.

He mail the copy of the interview to the expert. When the expert got that because he needs more content (information) for his subscribers he email the link to them. This eventually result in more people visiting my friends website.

How do you interview this people? It’s simple. You may just compile the questions that people ask in forums in your market, add more personal questions and email it to them as interview questions. When you get response, you can format it as article post for your website.

Make sure you contact somebody in your market today.

For sometime now millions of people worldwide now uses different new technological system to communicate with each other. The system is well know as social media. Some people use term web2.o for this new system of communication. There are several websites that are based on this system with large users.  Some of the websites are:

How will you benefit from signing up with the sites?

1. You can get a lot of people in your market to build relationship with. You can now leverage your relationship to get you website visitors.

2. You can get good search engine exposure for your site. Here is how it works. To get ranked in search engine you need to provide good content that is keyword rich on your website and you need to have good numbers of other website linking back to your site. Using the social media free sites listed above you can get lots of links to your website. We will discuss more on it in future lesson.

Honestly, past few weeks has been very busy weeks for me and guys here at NetProfits Limited. We had a brainstorming session about Big Bang event lately.

At first I suggested discontinuing the event because majority of participants violates one of the most important rule of the event which is having your set up fee (at least money that can cover your domain name, hosting and autoresponder service).

But after long brainstorming, I was forced to change my mind at least for the sake of the few people that have been actively following the lessons and putting it into immediate use.

So, we have to continue. Anyway!

However, at this point my focus will be more on participants that are actively following the lessons. I will try as much as possible to post 2 to 3 lessons everyday to cover days missed. Of course the lessons will be more of short tips you can use immediately. If you have already complete the set up stage then you won’t have to worry about how to cope with the lessons to come.

I have two post ready on my pc for you. But before I post it I want you to share your website with us here.

Note: whether you post your website here or not we will still continue anyway. But if you do I can be able to offer advice and ofcourse you get opportunity to get input from other participants too.

Can I ask you a question?

One of the most important factor that makes a website a success is the constant availability of good and useful content. It is the main reason why users visit your website. Also, it is the reason why they keep coming back. If you don’t update your site with useful content you will be missing on good traffic and repeat traffic.

The million dollar question now is how do I know what to write about?

There are several different places on internet where your customers are already telling you what they want. What they want to know more about.

1. Using google alert to generate article post idea

“Google Alerts are email updates of the latest relevant Google results (web, news, etc.) based on your choice of query or topic.”

To create google alert account -

First make list of keywords your want to get alert message on. Let this be important keywords in your market. Use one word or two words only where possible.

Open your web browser and go to http://google.com/alerts

In the empty box tag ‘search terms’ type your keyword in it.

Leave the next box as comprehensive or choose type you want.

Choose how often you want to receive alert message.

Add your email address

Click on create alert to complete the process.

Expect alert message in your email box. When you receive alert message you can create short article about it or just write your summary of it and leave a link to it on your blog site.

2. Using online forum to generate ideas

There are forum on almost every topic/market available online. If there is non for your market. Create it. Online forum is the place where they meet to discuss important issues, ask questions and exchange ideas.

When next you visit a forum in your market make sure you take note of the post that is getting good number of ‘reply’ and ‘views’. Such post must be pointing to your visitors area of interest. Think of how you can re-phrase the title and also get points to create your article post.

3. Using existing product owners salescopy content.

Hey, I am not saying you should copy and paste information of another website on yours.

No. Far from it.

Here is what you should do.

Go to place like www.clickbank.com

Get a website selling product in your market.

Visit the product salespage.

Go to the point where you have ‘bullet list’. Bullet list is items the sellers highlight on is website as the content of the offer/package. Something like……

There you have it budddie.

Give it a try today.

Don’t forget to add a short promotion message pointing to your free report opt-in page.

Something like….
